Pooleys Data Breach
Latest update 09/11/18:
We have been contacted by some customers to express their concern that the customer database on our website has been hacked and unknown persons have sent emails requesting money via a Bitcoin transfer in exchange for suppressing a video they falsely claim to hold. If you have been the recipient of one of these emails, then please accept our sincere apologies. Please do not respond to their email or pay any money to them whatsoever.
Please read this article for more information on the email received -
We have worked with our developers to ascertain the facts surrounding this incident and have spoken with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). The ICO have assured us that "this is not a reportable incident".
Our developers have told us that since our new website was launched in January 2016, there has been no data breach whatsoever. Our website uses the latest industry-standard security and encryption. It has been given an A Rating security certificate. If a data breach did occur, then it was on an earlier version of our site which was in operation from 2015 and before. Please be assured that we do not hold any financial data (including credit card data) on our website and never have done. The hackers could have removed your name, email address, delivery address, password and any order history information during the hack of the old site.
We recommend that you reset your password as a precaution on our website if you have not changed it in the last two years and on other sites if you use the same password.

Please accept our sincere apologies once again if you have been the recipient of one of these emails.
