The mobile phone running a flying app has come to revolutionise flying in just a few short years.But it does have the downside of dedicating the phone or tablet to that particular task. Commercially available phone or tablet mounts tend to lock the device in place, and can sometimes obscure part of the outside view from the cockpit. The KneePod has been designed to sit unobtrusively on your thigh, angled towards your eyeline. It allows you to easily remove the device if required for taking photos, sharing with a co-pilot or when it isn't required in a certain phase of flight such as flying around familiar airfields.
WARNING: Like aviation headsets, KneePodGA makes use of magnets. Close proximity to magnetic compasses will affect their orientation. Please ensure that location of your KneePod in your aircraft will not have any negative impact before flight.
The KneePod has been tested with a number of mobile phones and tablets and has not been found to impact functions within flight following apps such as SkyDemon and EasyVFR, but please validate your device/app setup in conjunction with the KneePod on the ground before using in flight.
The device may detach when knocked sharply or being subjected to sustained negative G-forces.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: The metal plate uses a strong adhesive to attach to the device. Before applying the plate we recommend holding your device over the magnetic area on the KneePod to ensure nothing on the phone or case (ie. camera cluster) will prevent the device from lying flat against the magnet. Be aware that the metal disc may impact wireless charging of the device.
The KneePod is shipped with 2 metal plates – one circular and one rectangular. These are best applied to a phone/tablet case as opposed to the device itself. Lightly clean the area you will to apply the plate to, then simply remove the backing and attach firmly. If there is a protective film on the reverse side of the plate, remove this too.
Place the device on the KneePod to ensure solid attraction – it should lie flat against the sloped base, will rotate with a little friction but require a firm pull to remove.
Place the KneePod onto a comfortable area on your thigh, loop the strap under your leg then through and pull to desired tightness. Lock in place with the hook section. Dependant on fabric, the KneePod should remain in place when standing (please don't attempt this whilst the device is attached!).
To remove, undo the strap and pull through the loops. The strap can be coiled around the KneePod and turned 180 degrees at the hook section to store easily.
