Summer School: How Pooleys Aviation Academy Webinars Can Help You Crack Ground School This Summer
Ground school is the part of pilot training that requires the most discipline and, for many student pilots, the most time. Between work, flying lessons and everyday life, finding the space to study consistently is one of the biggest challenges on the road to a PPL.
Summer changes that equation.
With longer days, a more flexible routine and a clear window between now and autumn, the summer months are one of the best opportunities to make real progress through your PPL theoretical knowledge subjects. At Pooleys Aviation Academy, we have built a webinar programme specifically designed to help you do exactly that, on your schedule and at your pace.
How the webinars work
Webinars run every Wednesday evening from 8pm to 9pm and every Sunday morning from 9am to 10am, with each session covering a specific PPL subject area. You can attend either session or both, and sessions are available to book right through to the end of 2026.
Each webinar is led by an instructor who tailors the content to the group attending. At the start of each session, attendees are invited to identify the areas they want to focus on, which means the content is shaped around what you actually need rather than following a fixed script. You can sit back and listen, take notes, or ask questions and get fully involved. The choice is yours.
Organising your summer study
The webinar programme is flexible enough to work around almost any schedule. If you want to make fast progress, you can study two subjects simultaneously by attending both the Wednesday and Sunday sessions each week, covering different subject areas on each day. At that pace, you can work through the complete syllabus in around nine weeks.
If a steadier pace works better for you, attending one session per week will take you through the full syllabus in approximately five months. You can skip sessions during holidays and pick up where you left off the following week.
If you have already passed some of your exams, you can simply jump into the sessions covering the subjects you still need, without committing to the full programme.
What is coming up this summer
Over the coming weeks the schedule includes Navigation, Principles of Flight, Operational Procedures, Flight Performance and Planning, Human Performance and Limitations, Communications and Aircraft General Knowledge. Sessions run right through August and into September, giving you a substantial window to make progress before the autumn.
